The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape is proud to officially announce our two candidates for the Nelson Mandela Bay Ward 2 and Ward 9 by-elections on 14 August 2024.

Sean Tappan has been selected as the DA’s candidate for the Ward 2 by-election. Sean comes from a financial sector background and lives in Ward 2. He has played an active role in the local Neighbourhood Watch, Community Policing Forum and Beachfront Safety Sector.

Bernhard Wolf, our candidate for the Ward 9 by-election, is a seasoned business owner in Nelson Mandela Bay who has for many years given back to his community.  He has served as a police reservist for over 10 years and also served on the Municipal Ward Committee – assisting residents to get municipal issues resolved.

Sean and Bernhard are exceptional candidates who have demonstrated their commitment and dedication to their communities. The DA is proud to have them as part of our team.

The role of a ward councillor has become increasingly difficult and equally important to communities due to the dysfunctional state of the Nelson Mandela Bay Coalition of Chaos government. We are extremely confident that Sean and Bernhard will rise to this challenge and serve the residents of these two wards with integrity. Once elected, we have full confidence in their ability to work with the Caucus to implement the DA’s mandate to fight for clean governance and quality service delivery in Nelson Mandela Bay.

The DA is in your corner, fighting for you. Together we can get Nelson Mandela Bay working again.
