The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape congratulates Francois Titus on his appointment as proportional representative councillor in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.
Francois (45) is born and raised in the Northern Areas of Gqeberha and has been a community activist in Nelson Mandela Bay’s Ward 34 for more than a decade.
With a strong commitment to youth development, he has consistently focused on providing skills training and development opportunities for young people in the Northern Areas.
Francois joined the DA at the encouragement of the late Councillor Johnny Arends. He quickly became involved, serving as Deputy Branch Chairperson for Ward 34 in 2017, and was subsequently elected as Branch Chairperson in 2018.
Dedicated to enhancing the lives of Ward 34 residents, he served as an elected ward committee member with passion from 2016 to 2021
Between 2022 and 2023, while the DA’s Retief Odendaal was the Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Francois also worked as a mayoral coordinator.
Francois is committed to the DA’s mission to fix what we can from our own pockets until we take over government and get Nelson Mandela Bay working again.
We have every confidence in his ability to serve as a councillor, and we look forward to him working closely with the DA Caucus to deliver on our mandate of clean, accountable governance and quality services for all residents.
The DA is in your corner, fighting for you. Together we can get Nelson Mandela Bay working again.
